Abstract

The Eurovision Song Contest is the largest and longest-running cultural show in the world. It is a reflection of Europe in its most fundamental aspects, its culture, its politics and its society. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate that the 2020 contest, even if virtual, is both an image and an indicator of the evolution of Europe in that particular year. After explaining how the Eurovision continues to be a reflection of European evolution, beyond economic integration, we will take two case studies: France and the United Kingdom, which we will examine from their history to their participation in the contest 2020
