Abstract

High rates of employee turnover in Mexico are a wakeup call for businesses due to the costs of hiring and training new staff. It is important to explore the reasons behind the employee’s decision to change jobs. Studies have shown that employee turnover is associated with job satisfaction. These studies imply that if an employee decides to change jobs is because you are not satisfied with the one you currently have. Correlation and regression tests were conducted in a survey by INEGI to identify which variables are directly related to job satisfaction. Results suggest that social mobility, life satisfaction, happiness, social satisfaction and wealth are highly related to job satisfaction.
